Disclaimer: There was NO compensation paid for this review/recommendation and all items received were purchased by me. A little over a year ago I randomly (because I didn’t even know this was a thing) came across this Mastectomy Pillow on Etsy. I of course clicked on the picture, since I just so happened to have a mother who would be having a double mastectomy in a few short weeks. And I am always searching for items or ways to make this process a little less awful, stressful, manageable, (feel free to insert your own word here)____________.… The link took me to the Pink Pepper Co. shop on Etsy. Where in short, I found everything mastectomy. Of course there were things that I hadn’t even thought of, from button down cotton shirts to lanyards to hold the drains. I ended up ordering one of the gift sets, because it included mastectomy surgery shirts (3) as well as a mastectomy chest pillow. The shirts I thought were great because they are cotton, so they are comfortable for regular daily wear during recovery and do not require lifting your arms up. The chest pillow is genius, because well…after that type of surgery you are going to want a buffer…especially on the car ride home (to start). In my true obsessive compulsive fashion, I placed my order, then freaked to about the size of the shirts and contacted the shop owner Leslie. Not only did I question the size I ordered but also if I would get it in time (as my mom’s treatment facility was out of town). Leslie was great and had no issue with changing the shirt sizes. Luckily I was capable of making the crucial decision on the shirt sizes and she got my order sent out asap. I received it with ample time before heading to my mother’s surgery appointment. The entire process was painless and speedy. What made me feel even better about my purchase was finding out that Leslie was a breast cancer survivor herself (I mean not too crazy…seeing as the products she is providing are clearly from one who has gone through the process). I love supporting small businesses, it is important and this shop great! About Pink Pepper Co, directly from their site: Pink Pepper Co. specializes in post op comfort products for breast cancer and mastectomy healing. We feature Mastectomy Pillows, which provide comfort and protection after any type of breast surgery. As a patient is healing, they need to apply soft pressure to the chest area, and offer protection against bumps, drops, and the occasional pet or child jump. Our Mastectomy Pillow is the perfect solution. Equally important is our Mastectomy T Shirts, which are 100% cotton, have easy open snap fronts, and are specifically designed to discreetly hold drain tubes and provide comfort during healing. These are worn 24 hours a day by patients for the first month of recovery, and are absolutely necessary when mobility and movement are limited. Made by a Breast Cancer Survivor who understands, for other future Breast Cancer Survivors! I am so thankful for Pink Pepper Co., they were a true life saver…my mother…a year later still uses the pillow (she has not had reconstruction) and likes the padding if not wearing her prosthesis. I STRONGLY recommend visiting her site (www.pinkpepperco.com) if you have a loved one who will be going through breast cancer related surgery in the near future.

Have you heard of Ollo? I recently got a "pre-approved" offer in the mail. Introductory offer of 0% interest for 15 months on the Ollo Platinum. After checking their website I see they offer 2 credit cards, Ollo Platnium (OP) and Ollo Rewards (OR). The OP has no annual fee while the OR is $39 annually. Both cards offer: no over the limit fee, returned check fee, foreign transaction fees and no rate hikes if there is a late payment. The OR offers 2% cash back one as station, grocery and drugstore purchases and 1% on all other purchases. This sounds like a good starter card, but I do not speak from personal experience. For me I personally have no use for a Ollo at this point, a few years ago it might have been a totally different story. So I will not be taking them up on this offer. Are any of you already using this card? Would you recommend it to a family member or friend? What are some good starter cards that you would recommend to others? My first thought, we could have just ended the series with the last season, everything was all settled and wrapped up nicely with the characters that you know, maybe hate and have possibly grown to love. This season doesn’t really make me change my mind. But I really want to! Why? Three reasons 1) Gabrielle Anwar…love her and miss all of her FABULOUS outfits in USA Network’s Burn Notice; 2) Adelaide Kane…loved her in The CW’s Reign…but since loosely based on the story of Queen Mary of Scotts, its clear the show could not last forever (oh and wardrobe for Reign was on FIYAH!); 3) Dania Ramírez…I immediately recognized her from Devious Maids on Lifetime, I appreciate the diversity being added here. I like that the show is shaking up these timeless fairytales with main characters who look more representative of our society today. I noticed that it appears that they have added Princess Tiana into the mix…finally! And these are some of the reasons I really want to love this season. I’m just not there yet. I get the idea of multiple dimensions with their own versions of the same stores going. I do think it is cute that they have started this season the way the show originally started. But the fact that they are reinventing their own wheel, I guess I just feel like it is unnecessary. I wondered if moving to Friday was a bad sign, but NBC’s Grimm was on Friday and I REALLY enjoyed that show…hated to see it end last year (you just get so emotionally attached to these shows sometimes!). I digress..I’m going to continue to hold on, in hopes that I get where I…hope to be with this show. How do you feel about Operation Next Chapter, now that the 2nd episode of season 7 has aired? Harlan Coben’s The Five came to my attention by O.T. Fagbenle, you may recognize his name Hulu Original Series The Handmaid’s Tale, he plays Luke in the series. I enjoyed this British TV show that focuses around the disappearance of Jesse, a five year old little boy, twenty-two years ago. The Five are composed of Jesse’s older brother Mark and his friends Danny (O.T. Fagbenle), Slade, and Pru who were thought to be some of the last people to see Jesse. With the fifth person being Jesse himself. Twenty-two years later the four remaining kids, now adults, have remained somewhat close. We find out during the course of the series that Danny’s father was the lead detective on the case and there may have been questions around his work on the case. Ultimately Danny’s father who is suffering from Alzheimer's, in a lucid moment, suggest that evidence was missing from the case file because he was protecting Danny. The story opens up with Danny, now a detective himself for Wentbridge Police, working a crime scene of a completely unrelated case (which was very interesting, interesting how? Think walking humans, held against their will, on dog leashes and with collars), and running DNA tests on evidence found at several different crime scene. The results are shocking and bring back a lot of old friends into the fold to get to the bottom of what happened to little Jesse twenty-two years ago. The series has 10 episodes that are roughly 44mins each on Netflix. I enjoyed this series and would recommend giving it a go, if you are looking for a new show or series to binge. Let me know what you think! Anything new that you have seen that you believe his binge worthy? If so share below! Have you had a chance to try Shea Moistures Jojoba Oil and Ucuuba Butter Protective Styles line? What did you think? If not do you think you will give it a shot? What other products are you using when protective styles in braids or cornrows?
